The NFBCK will be hosted on CBS sports this season and run privately with full payouts.

LEAGUE RULES

1. OVERVIEW

Basic game play rules will follow "the official Rules of the NFBC Satellite Leagues". Exceptions and additions to these rules are listed below.

2. IP MINIMUM

To qualify for the pitching ratio categories (ERA,WHIP), teams must accumulate a minimum of 1000 innings. Teams below the minimum will rank below all qualifying teams in these categories.

3. ROSTERS

a) A team's roster will consist of 23 active players and 11 reserve players. To begin the season, this will include a total of 29 players chosen in the regular draft (including retained keepers), plus 5 players chosen in the minor league draft (including retained players with minor league status).

b) Any player may be dropped during the season, including minor leaguers, and replaced with a player from the league’s waiver pool.

c) Any un-owned player on an MLB 40-man roster as of the start of the draft is eligible for the major league draft. Also eligible are unsigned free agents that played in MLB the prior season and have an ADP within the top 30 rounds of the NFBC.

4. MINOR LGE STATUS

a) Any available player under contract in either the major or minor leagues with rookie-of-the-year eligibility for the upcoming season (less than 50 IP and less than 130 AB in the majors) qualifies for the league’s minor league draft. Players not under contract (as of the beginning of each season's NFBCK draft) are ineligible, including unsigned draft picks, potential draft picks and foreign players.

b) Players that are chosen in the league’s minor league draft will retain minor league status until their owner activates them to the team’s starting lineup for an official scoring period. A player’s actual status in MLB, whether they are in the majors or minors, is inconsequential to their status in the NFBCK.

c) Minor league status allows a player to be kept indefinitely until activated. Once activated to a team’s starting lineup for an official scoring period, a player loses his minor league status. The first season in which a player is activated becomes year-1 of their 3-year keeper eligibility.

5. KEEPERS

a) Each team may retain up to 8 keepers per season, not including those with minor league status. Players (non-Minors) may be rostered for no more than 3 consecutive seasons.

b) Each team may retain up to 5 additional players with minor league status. However, any minor league keepers will reduce a team’s minor league draft choices by an equal number at the back end of that season’s minor league draft. (For example, a team retaining 2 minor league keepers would forfeit their 4th and 5th round minor league draft slots). No team will be able to roster more than 5 players with minor league status at any time.

c) Any drafted keeper will take the place of that team's draft pick for the same round in which he was drafted. Any keeper acquired as a minor leaguer, and thereafter activated, will take the place of that team’s 15th round draft pick. Any keeper acquired as a free agent from the waiver pool will take the place of that team’s 11th round draft pick.

d) If any team has multiple keepers occupying the same round, the additional players will occupy the picks immediately following the intended round. For example, if a team kept his 11th and 13th round picks plus two free agents, the free agents would take the place of his 12th and 14th round picks. All players' contract status, however, would not change to the lower round, even if they were slotted into a lower round.

e) Approximately 1 week prior to the draft rosters must be reduced to no more than 8 keepers (and up to 5 additional players with minor league status). From this deadline forward until the draft room is locked, any player(s) except those with minor league status may be dropped (but not replaced).

6. DRAFT ORDER

Draft order will be determined by bidding for slots using each team’s annual $1000 FAAB budget. All teams that finished out-of-the-money in the prior season are eligible to bid on their desired draft slot. The minor league draft order will be in reverse order of the regular draft. Teams that finished in-the-money will have their choice of remaining draft slots in reverse order of the prior season’s standings. Winning bids will be deducted from each team’s respective available FAAB budget, while each non-bidding team (the prior season’s winners) will have the league average bid deducted from their FAAB budget.

Participating teams will nominate a draft slot, just as in a player auction, and bidding will commence until all bidding teams have a draft slot. The first team to nominate a draft slot is the last place finisher from last season, and so on. Any teams not present will be assigned the highest remaining draft slot at the end of bidding. Zero bids are acceptable.

7. PLAYER DROPS

a) Players dropped on or after August 1, which were drafted in the 10th round or earlier, cannot be retained as a keeper in the following season.

b) Any drop, then add, of the same player by the same team in consecutive weeks cannot be retained by that team for the following season.

8. PRIZE POOL

The prize pool will consist of a 100%-payback private prize pool paid to the top 4 teams based on an $1100 per team entry fee (plus the pro rate cost of the host site, if any). For returning teams, the following season's entry fee will be retained from winnings.

9. LEAGUE MANAGEMENT

The NFBCK commissioner is responsible for maintaining rules, collecting and disbursing private funds, and putting the best interest of the league foremost should any dispute arise.
